Sam studied at Wakefield College for a BTEC in Media: Communication & Production. Following this he worked as a production assistant for a Television Production Company where he produced a weekly program for the Calendar TV shows on Yorkshire Television. During this time Sam also completed an evening course at Wakefield College in Sound Recording.
After completing this course he enrolled at Sheffield University to start a degree In Creative Music Technology, specialising in studio recording, composition and multimedia. Sam gained a 1st Class Honours Degree in Creative Music Technology from Sheffield University in 2005 and also winning The William Northam Award for Outstanding Achievement awarded by Sheffield University.
Whilst at University Sam was involved with animation company called Motley Films which produced animated films including an educational film based on a teaching system called THRASS (Teaching Handwriting Reading and Spelling Skills) available worldwide at http://www.thrass.co.uk/captain_thrass.htm. The film was premiered at the National Museum of Television, Film and Photography in July 2004.
Sam also worked as a freelance sound engineer in Wakefield & Leeds for a for a number of years before heading off as touring Sound Engineer for a band called New Vinyl which took him all around the country, to many different venues.
He went on to do a PGCE course at Huddersfield University and now very happy to be a fully qualified teacher. Sam went on to work at Wakefield College, teaching Sound Recording and Live Sound.
For the past five years Sam has been working with APL Event on a great variety of shows & projects. He also continues to spend his time writing & producing music.
